The company also manufactures orders, medals, and other official state honors. Bulgarian National Bank is the sole owner of Bulgarian Mint EAD. The company has a history dating back to 1952 when the first circulating coins were minted in Bulgaria. Bulgarian Mint EAD has produced commemorative coins since 1965, starting with the first jubilee coins made of gold and silver alloys featuring the images of Georgi Dimitrov and St. Cyril and Methodius. In 1993, they introduced the first Bulgarian platinum commemorative coin with the image of Desislava from Boyana Church. In 2010, Bulgarian Mint EAD transformed into a sole shareholder company, becoming its universal legal successor.
