Bulgarian firm Bulmarket DM, which was established in 1996, is mainly active in propane and diesel fuel distribution and railways transportation services. It operates 6 LPG and petroleum products terminals in Bulgaria and Romania. Together with its subsidiaries, the company also operates in the following sectors - trade in grain, methane stations operation, port services, transportation services, bio diesel production, oil seeds processing.
In May 2004, Bulmarket became the first private competitor of Bulgarian State Railways (BDZ). It was licensed to carry cargo on a 120-kilometres railway stretch between Russe and Kaspichan. In October 2005, the company received a national railway licence, becoming the second firm to compete with BDZ countrywide.
