Datecs is a private Bulgarian company engaged in the manufacture of electronic cash registers. It is also active in the manufacture and design of digital scales, printers, POS related equipment and GIS software.
Datecs was founded in 1990 by a group of research fellows from the Bulgarian Academy of Science. The start was given in 1990-92 with the first Cyrillic fonts in the Post Script format, the complete Cyrillic support under MS Windows - the Flex Type. Later, Datecs became one of the best known brand of electronic cash registers with fiscal memory in Central and Eastern Europe.
