Energo - Pro Bulgaria, founded in 2000, is a private producer of electricity from hydro power plants, running 14 HPP in the country. The total installed capacity is 166 MW and the annual electricity production is about 410 GWh. In 2002 the company acquired through privatization the cascades Sandanska Bistritsa and Koprinka and in 2004 - Petrohan Cascade. Owner of Energo - Pro Bulgaria is the Czech company Energo - Pro that was established in 1994 and currently has set foot in 5 countries (Czech Republic, Bulgaria, Turkey, Georgia and Armenia), employing more than 8,000 people.
