Fraport Twin Star Airport Management was established in 2006 when a consortium comprising local logistic firm BM Star and German`s Fraport won a 35-year concession contact for the operation of Varna and Burgas airports. The company pledged to invest EUR 403 million in the two airports. In 2009, BM Star was renamed into Airport Services.
The two Black Sea airports serviced 2.9 million passengers in 2009.
In October 2010, the company started a BGN 12 million expansion project for the construction of administrative buildings, fire-fighting facilities and four stands for large airplanes at the airport of Burgas.
