Lufthansa Technik Sofia (LTSF) is a joint venture between Lufthansa Technik and the Bulgarian Aviation Group. Located in Sofia, Bulgaria, the company specializes in the maintenance, repair, and overhaul (MRO) of narrowbody aircraft, specifically the Airbus A320 family and the Boeing 737 series. With a workforce of approximately 1,100 highly qualified staff, LTSF operates on a site spanning 25,000 square meters. Their services range from line maintenance to IL-/D-Checks, and they also offer additional services such as aircraft painting, special interior works, and AOG support. The facility can accommodate and service up to eight narrow-body aircraft for base maintenance simultaneously, as well as one aircraft in a nose-in position for cabin modifications. LTSF has the capability to perform all base maintenance work in-house or in collaboration with other facilities within the Lufthansa Technik Group. Positioned in southeastern Europe, LTSF is strategically located to meet the growing demand for maintenance services in the region. The company anticipates a steady increase in demand for maintenance services for the Airbus A320 and Boeing 737 aircraft in the coming years, driven by the expansion of low-cost carriers in Europe, the Middle East, and North Africa, as well as the fleet upgrades of East European airlines to Western aircraft types.
