Bulgarian agribusiness and food company Papas Olio, which was established in 1994, is one the largest producers of sunflower cooking oil in the country. It is primarily engaged in the processing of sunflower seeds. The company, which sells its products under the Papas Olio brand, operates a plant in the south-eastern town of Yambol, which has a daily processing capacity of 600 tonnes, a bottling plant with a capacity of 300,000 liters per day and a refinery with a daily capacity of 180 tonnes. Papas Olio also runs a unit in the Black Sea town of Balchik that has a daily processing capacity of 600 tonnes.
Papas Olio is also active in the trade in grains and oil seeds, primarily sunflower seed, wheat, barley, canola and corn. It owns several grain storage facilities throughout the country with a total capacity of 400,000 tonnes.
