Plastchim-T AD, which was established in 1967, develops, manufactures and sells a variety of packaging films and flexible packages. The company's product range features biaxially oriented polypropylene films (BOPP), cast polypropylene films (CPP), polyethylene three layers blow film (PLPE), flexible intermediate bulk containers (FIBC), PP bags and PP yarn. Plastchim-T AD runs two production facilities in Bulgaria and has an annual production capacity of more than 70,000 tonnes of plastic packaging.
A 9.49% stake in Plastchim was sold against privatisation vouchers under Bulgaria's mass sell-off programme in 1996-97 and 18.1% was sold at preferential terms to the company's employees. In December 1997, Bulgaria's Privatisation Agency sold 72.41% of the plastics producer to locally-registered company FamTex for USD 4.15 million. In July 2007, the firm Famteks - T merged into Plastchim - T. In November 2007 Bulgarian financial and industrial group, Eurohold Bulgaria, acquired a 49.8% stake in Plastchim-T for an undisclosed sum.
