Stara Planina Hold is successor of a privatisation fund established in 1996 to participate in the mass sell-offs under the country's voucher privatisation programme. In April 1999, the fund was transformed into a joint-stock company. The investment portfolio of the holding comprises companies, operating in the following industries - machine building, electrical engineering, perfumery and cosmetics, textile and food-processing.
