The Dimed begins its story in September 21, 1967, when the two largest pharmacy chains in Rio Grande do Sul, Panitz and Velgos met in a joint venture, establishing a central purchasing and logistics to supply both networks, as well as other customers in the region. Dimed works with more than 9,000 items that leave the national and international laboratories, and more than 5,000 pharmacies in Rio Grande do Sul, Santa Catarina and Parana. About 60% of their stock of medicines is high turnover, 35% medium and 5% of low turnover.
