In operation since 1998, TBG is responsible for operating in Brazil of the largest gas pipeline in Latin America. It's a result of a project of Brazilian Federal Government wishing to increase the participation of the natural gas in the Brazilian energy matrix as well as an agreement in negotiation since 1936 between Brazil and Bolivia for exploration of the region of Grande Tchaco. In operation, the gas-line cuts five Brazilian states - Mato Grosso do Sul, Sao Paulo, Parana, Santa Catarina and Rio Grande Do Sul - with a total of 36 delivery stations (city-gates) placed in strategical points of these states.
