Was established by the Medical Association of Blumenau, which in assembly on September 20, 1971, decided by the founding of the Cooperative Society of Medical and Hospital with the acronym Samedi. Only on October 30, 1974 was adopted the current name Unimed. The action area of the Unimed Blumenau covers the following cities: Blumenau, Apiúna, Ascurra, Benedito Novo, Dr. Pedrinho, Gaspar, Indaial Pomeroy, Rio dos Cedros, Dodge and Timbo. Its headquarters is located in Blumenau and four regional offices in Pomeroy, Timbo, Indaial and Gaspar.
