Coomeva Cooperativa is the entity that gave rise to the Coomeva Group, and provides unity of purpose, direction and control to the companies of the group. Coomeva Cooperative Business Group is ranked among the 20 most important in Colombia. It generates more than 15,000 direct jobs in 24 departments of the country. Due to its cooperative origin, the Coomeva companies contribute to the integral development of the associates of the Cooperative, as well as of the other users and clients, providing services in three sectors: Protection, Finance and Health. The Cooperative was founded in Cali on March 4, 1964 by 27 Valle del Cauca doctors. The Cooperative, which in its first year had 400 associates, currently totals more than 240,000 associates and their families.
