Fondo Ganadero del Tolima S.A. was incorporated as a company on September 24, 1953, and the city of Ibague was established as the main domicile. At present, it operates as an open joint-stock company under the supervision and control of the Superintendencia de Sociedades. During 2001, the merger by absorption with "Carlima" was consolidated. Its corporate purpose is the promotion and improvement of the livestock sector, livestock agribusiness, marketing and distribution of goods that are related and necessary for the development of these activities.
