Phoenix Lekarensky Velkoobchod S.R.O. is a leading company in the pharmaceutical distribution market in the Czech Republic. It has been part of the multinational group, Phoenix Group, since 1994. The Phoenix Group is one of the largest European companies involved in the wholesale distribution of medicines and operates in 26 European countries. Phoenix Lekarensky Velkoobchod primarily serves pharmacies, hospitals, and pharmaceutical manufacturing companies. The company was formed on September 1, 1996, through the merger of three pharmaceutical wholesalers - Schulze s.r.o., ZZ - Stumpf, a.s., and Waldo, a.s. This merger created a significant distributor that quickly became a leader in the Czech wholesale pharmaceutical market. The company owns business centers in Prague, Brno, and Ševětín. Over the years, Phoenix Lekarensky Velkoobchod has expanded its operations through acquisitions and the opening of additional business centers in Vysoké Mýto, Ostrava, and Plzeň. In 2005, the company merged with PURUS, a.s., and in 2011, it divided its business activities into two regions - Čechy and Morava. Phoenix Lekarensky Velkoobchod also introduced a direct distribution model for AstraZeneca in 2011 to improve patient supply. The company provides regular international logistics services to approximately ten partners.
