Vlnap (Nejdek, Czech Republic), the largest domestic producer of knitting yarn, became the largest production complex of the holding company Wagenfelder Spinnereien (WS) (Germany) in Mar 2001. WS, which makes textile yarns too. Vlnap, which manufactures industrial as well as hand knitting yarns, controls more than 50% of the Czech market. Since 1994 WS has owned a cotton yarn manufacturer named CC Classic Cotton (Jaromer, Czech Republic). Vlnap exports mainly to Germany, Austria, Switzerland, the UK and France (75% of production is exported). The firm plans to process 2,200 t of yarn per year by 2003. It plans to process 1,650 t in 2000.
