Oriente Seguros S.A. is a company located in Quito, Ecuador. It was founded in 1977 as a General Insurance company. Until the year 2000, it had a limited commercial presence in the Ecuadorian market. However, it was acquired by Mistral Inversiones y Títulos Cía. Ltda., an investment project administrator, in 2000. Under new management, the company formed a new Board of Directors with prestigious profiles that contributed to its development and growth. In October 2014, as part of the company's strategic vision to strengthen and improve its services, Oriente Seguros decided to sell its vehicle portfolio to QBE Seguros Colonial S.A. This ensured that customers would maintain the coverage and services initially contracted. With the support of leading reinsurance companies worldwide, Oriente Seguros decided to refocus its business towards the corporate segment, aiming to consolidate its provision of Surety Bonds and General Insurance. In 2016, Julio Moreno Espinosa and Esteban Cadena Naranjo acquired the majority of the company's shares. They aimed to promote a renewed brand with clear differentiators that convey solidity, projecting a modern and avant-garde image.
