Egyptian Resorts Company (ERC) operates in the tourism and hospitality sectors. It was established in 1996 with the objective to develop land and utilities for all tourism related activities in Sahl Hasheesh area in the Red Sea province, for which it holds exclusive development rights for 32 million square meters of land. Sahl Hasheesh project, located 18 kilometres south of Hurghada International Airport, implies the development of 30 five star hotel apartments comprising of 200 rooms, restaurants, cafeterias, health clubs, swimming pools, tennis, squash and golf courses, entertainment and meeting halls, night clubs, children playgrounds, a medical unit, as well as marine sports and entertainment activities centre. ERC was listed on the Cairo and Alexandria Stock Exchanges in 1999.
