The Iron and Steel Company for Mines and Quarries (ISMQ) is an Egyptian joint stock company located in Giza. It is affiliated with the Holding Company for Metallurgical Industries - Ministry of Public Information Sector. The company's main purpose is to extract and exploit iron ore and other mineral ores, as well as trade in them domestically and internationally. ISMQ conducts economic feasibility studies for mineral ores in research areas and mining projects within and outside of Egypt. The company also commercially, industrially, agriculturally, and touristically exploits its work areas to generate profit. ISMQ has a history of over fifty years in the mining sector and has been responsible for supplying iron ores and limestone to the Egyptian Iron and Steel Company. The company explores and exploits new occurrences of ores, improves their specifications, and trades in them through new mining projects. ISMQ aims to increase profit by utilizing its privileged areas and their surroundings, guided by the unique geological features in the surrounding desert.
