Darou Pakhsh Pharmaceutical Manufacturing Company is one of the biggest drug manufacturers in Iran. It was established in 1956 in Tehran with the goal to provide medical supplies to 5 national hospitals and 255 clinics. In 2002 it started trading on Tehran Stock Exchange. Currently, the company operates seven independent production units for human medicines, which are responsible for the production of over 200 types of drugs. 70 of them are also exported to neighbouring countries, as well as to the UK, Austria, Sudan, Oman and Libya. For the production of the drugs, Darou Pakhsh buys raw materials from local and European manufacturers.
