Post Bank of Iran, also referred to as PBI, is an Iranian credit institution headquartered in the city of Tehran. It was incorporated by the government and licensed by Iran’s Central Bank in 1996. Post Bank of Iran offers the full range of bank services, including deposits, loans extension, trade finance, sale of securities, letters of guarantee and foreign exchange. PBI customer base is mainly defined by individual customers and SMEs. Its shares are traded on Tehran Stock Exchange. Post Bank, like all Iranian banks, operate under the principles of Islamic Sharia law, which bans the charge and payment of interest.
