About The Company:
The company is located next to the evergreen Persian Gulf on a 95-hectare land 13 km west of Bandar Abbas and in the Special Economic Zone for Mining and Metal Industries of the Persian Gulf, which will become the third steel hub of the country.
The company s characteristics are proximity to the azure waters of the Persian Gulf for easy access to open waters, proximity to the huge Assaluyeh gas reservoirs, proximity to the Gol Gohar iron ore reserves, Shahid Rajaei port complex and road and rail transportation.
The plan to build a huge steel complex in 1999 in Hormozgan province was put on the agenda of the esteemed Economic Council and after approval of the executive steps of the largest project of the Ministry of Industries and Mines, including excavation, concreting, construction of huge steel docks and thousands of tons of materials and equipment. Another need began in 2006.
Direct Rehabilitation Unit (Iron Manufacturing Plant) with an annual capacity of 1650 thousand tons of sponge iron in 32 months with the unremitting efforts of local specialists and craftsmen, which is a unique record in the country and entered the road phase in September 2008. The cold start was launched in March of the same year with the presence of the President.
In 2010, the steelmaking unit also entered the hot test phase, which coincided with the Eid al-Fitr in August of that year, the first melting of the electric arc furnace, and on April 15, 2011, the first test bed of Hormozgan Steel Company was produced.
Hormozgan Steel Company has a nominal capacity of 1.5 million tons of slabs (slabs) with a thickness of 200 and 250 mm, a width of 900 to 2000 mm and a length of 6000 to 12000 mm. The company is also able to produce intermediate products such as 1,650,000 tons of sponge iron per year, 90,000 tons of lime per year, 7,500 normal cubic meters of oxygen per hour, 18,000 normal cubic meters per hour of nitrogen and 120 normal cubic meters per hour.
