KelKos Energy Sh.p.k. is a Kosovo-based hydropower energy management company. It operates the country’s largest hydropower plant, Lumbardhi. The plant has an output of 8 MW and an annual energy production of approximately 22 GWh, supplying some 6,000 households with electricity. In 2009 KelKos Energy Sh.p.k. was acquired by KI-KELAG International GmbH, part of Austria-based energy group Kelag. The Austrian company, which began operations in 1923, is active in energy production, procurement, distribution and sales of grid-bound power. The Kosovar government announced in 2012 that Kelag has began construction of a new 20MW hydropower plant and plans to build two other plants in the country. All three new power plants are managed by KelKos Energy Sh.p.k. after their completion.
