Vitis-Hincesti SA is one of Moldova's oldest wine factories. It is well known in the West due to the success of Kirkwood Chardonnay. At present, Vitis-Hincesti is a wine factory with modern equipment and is the only factory in Moldova that is certified for the production of VDO and VDOC wines equivalent to the French AOC (Appellation d'origine contrôlée). The winery is among the first in Moldova to start producing organic wines. The Hincesti Winery comprises six grape processing, winemaking, bottling and storage facilities ensuring the complete production cycle from raw grapes to bottled wines. The main plant is located in the town of Hincesti about 28 kilometers south of Chisinau. The plant stands on approximately 4.8 hectares of owned land.
