Afianzadora Insurgentes was founded in 1958, by Mr. Juan Murguia de Palacio. In 1993 it was acquired by Grupo Financiero Serfin. In 1996 it was acquired by the american group United States Fidelity and Guaranty Company, a group which in turn was incorporated in 1998 as a subsidiary of insurer The St. Paul Group. Finally, in 2007 it was purchased by the same group of Mexican investors that in 2005 bought Afianzadora Aserta. In 2008, the two bonding companies became subsidiaries of Grupo Financiero Aserta, composed in that year as the first Mexican financial group that specializes in bail bonds.
