Financiera Rural is a state owned Financial Institution, created in order to focus rural credit to agricultural cooperative societies and later to individual producers. It began its activities in 1935 as the National Agricultural Credit Bank. In 1975 the merger of several banks including the Agricultural one gave as a result the Rural National Credit Bank (Banrural) to finally constitute "Financiera Rural" in 2003.
