Penafiel Aguas Minerales S.A. de C.V. formerly known as Cadbury Schweppes, is dedicated to the production, marketing and distribution of soft drinks and bottled water. It entered in the beverages Mexican market in 1992 with the acquisition of Manantiales Penafiel, giving rise to Cadbury Schweppes Bebidas Mexico. On May 7, 2008, Cadbury Schweppes announces the separation of the business of beverages and confectionery. With this process, the company takes the name of Dr. Pepper Snapple Group (DPSG) and becomes an independent public company quoted on the New York Stock Exchange with the acronym DPS. In Mexico, the business took the name of its leading brand Grupo Penafiel. It has four production plants located in the city of Tehuacan, Puebla; Tlajomulco, Jalisco; Tecate, Baja California; and Xalostoc, State of Mexico; as well as 22 distribution centers and 13 bottlers.
