Ooredoo, previously known as Qatar Telecom, is the largest telecommunications service provider in the state of Qatar. It is licensed by the Supreme Council of Information and Communication Technology to provide both fixed and mobile telecommunications services in the state of Qatar an other countries. In 2013 Qatar Telecom changed its name to Ooredoo. Ooredoo Group operates a portfolio of brands including Ooredoo Qatar, Indosat, Asiacell, Wataniya, Nawras, Nedjma and Tunisiana. The group's principle activities are focused on mobile telephone services, broadband solutions, digital futures and fiber technologies, serving both consumer and business markets. Ooredoo Qatar provides a range of telecommunications products including national and international, Wireline and mobile telephony. It also offers Internet and Data services, ADSL, Wi-Fi and Cable TV services. In May 2011, Ooredoo became the first company in Qatar to reach internet trial speeds of 100 megabits per second.
