Empresa Financiera Edyficar S.A. began operations in 1998. In March 2008 it was authorised to operate as a financial institution. Its aim is to promote financials services to people and small businesses that have little amount of capital and different extents of development. The company is a subsidiary of Banco de Credito del Peru (BCP), which is part of the economic group Credicorp. Until June 2011, Edyficar counted with 2.054 employees, 29 agencies, 45 special offices and 28 offices on a national basis, due to its partnership with Banco de la Nacion. As of September 2017 the company will be closed as it will be taken up by Solucion Empresa Administradora Hipotecaria S.A.
