Birzeit Pharmaceuticals Company (BPC) is mainly engaged in manufacturing and distributing of generic medicines in a variety of therapeutic fields. The company manufactures and markets 300 products in various dosages, such as ampoules, capsules, tablets, syrups, suspensions and granules, ophthalmic, semi-solids, powder vials, suppositories and powders. It also has investment stakes in a number of companies, such as Lotus for Financial Investments Company, The National Bank, and Al Takaful Insurance Company. It also holds stake in local Medix Company for Beauty Care and Eastern Chemical Company. The company was established in 1973 in Birzeit village and became publicly traded in 2005. It operates some 16000 sq.m. production facilities.
