The National Power Grid Company - Transelectrica (joint stock state-owned company) was founded in July, 31, 2000 further to unbundling the former Romanian Electricity Authority into four independent entities: Transelectrica, Electrica, Hidroelectrica and Termoelectrica – for electricity transmission and dispatching, distribution and hydro &thermal generation. From August 29, 2006 company shares are listed on the Bucharest Stock Exchange.
