AK Bars Bank PAO (Russia)

"Ak Bars Bank" is a big universal lender with state participation that holds leadership positions on the banking services market in the Republic of Tatarstan. The lender’s core business focus is lending, cash settlement, deposit services provided to businesses and households. Ak Bars Bank was registered in Kazan in 1993. Since 1994 the lender has been the authorized bank of the Cabinet of the Republic of Tatarstan, and since November 1997 it has been the authorized body in charge of preserving the republic’s gold reserves that are designated to ensure investments in the republican economy. In 2000 the lender took over Interkamabank, based in Nizhnekamsk. In 2002 the lender was transformed into an open joint stock company. For a long time Ak Bars Bank’s major shareholders were large industrial enterprises based in the Republic of Tatarstan, republican off-budget funds, etc.
