Nizhnevartovskoe Neftegazodobivajusee Predprijatie (NNP) is developing 10 fields: Permyakovskoe, Khokhryakovskoe, Koshilskoe, Kolik-Yoganskoe, Ershovoe, Sorominskoe, Tul-Yoganskoe, Sabunskoe, Severo-Tarkhovskoe and Enitorskoe. NNP is also the exploration and development operator for three licence blocks belonging to TNK-BP Tekhnologii – Malo-Siktorskoe, Vostochno-Kolik-Yoganskoe and the Ermakovskaya group of fields (Orekhovo-Ermakovskoe, Chekhloneiskoe, Zapadno-Ermakovskoe and Khokhlovskoe), the licenses to which are held by Tyumenneftegaz. NNP currently comprises three amalgamated oil production areas, an operations support base and an engineering research and operations centre. The company was formed in 1964 at the same time as the discovery of Samotlor – the largest field in the USSR – and the creation of the Megionneft Oil Production Directorate. In 1971, this was transformed into the Nizhnevartovskneft Oil and Gas Production Directorate named after V.I.Lenin, which was succeeded in 1990 by the Nizhnevartovskoe Neftegazodobyvayuschee Predpriyatie.
