Open Joint Stock Company RUSAL Achinsk Alumina Combine (AGK) is the second largest producer of alumina in Russia, located in Achinsk of Krasnoyarsk region. The plant is part of Rusal group of companies. The abbreviated name is RUSAL Achinsk. The plant is engaged in processing of nepheline ore to produce alumina of grade G-00, soda ash, potash, aluminum sulphate. The design capacity of the plant is 900 thousand tons of alumina a year. Since 2002, alumina production exceeds capacity, and in 2008 it was 1.069 million tonnes. The plant is working on technologies developed by Russian National Aluminium-Magnesium Institute (YOU). It is based on the method of sintering ore with limestone, followed by hydro-chemical processing of spec. The produced alumina is delivered Krasnoyarsk, Bratsk and Novokuznetsk aluminum plant. Soda ash is exported to Kazakhstan. The plant is certified in compliance with ISO: 9001, ISO: 14001, OHSAS: 18001.
