Europack akciova spolocnost (Slovakia)

Europack akciova spolocnost is a joint stock company located in Dunajska Streda. It was founded on December 11, 1991, with the goal of utilizing the partners' experience in the packaging industry and undertaking large-scale privatization. The company purchased a factory in Dunajska Streda that had been producing packaging for the food industry since 1979. Despite initial difficulties such as the dissolution of the Czechoslovakian market and currency devaluation, Europack began to achieve success in both domestic and foreign markets. Sales and production grew by more than 20% annually, with exports surpassing domestic sales by the end of the 1990s. The key products were plastic packaging. By 2000, Europack had shifted its focus to dairy and egg packaging. The company also underwent a change in its shareholding structure and attracted strategic investors, allowing access to foreign loans with favorable interest rates and the opportunity to build a distribution network throughout Europe. Slovakia's entry into the European Union further facilitated an increase in export share to 70%. Due to increasing market competition, Europack made the decision to redirect its production towards egg packaging, which had the greatest potential for growth. The entire market share of packaging for the dairy industry, including production machinery and equipment, was relocated to a new site. The funds generated from this decision were invested in developing the new site, which has now become the largest manufacturing company in Europe for plastic egg packaging. The current installed capacity is 500 million units per year, with production taking place in a three-shift operation. Currently, 95% of the company's products are exported. In the 1990s, Europack secured distribution of its products through foreign trading companies. However, market conditions prompted the company to adapt and remain competitive. In 2010, Europack underwent organizational changes to improve communication between customers and the manufacturer. This led to the establishment of fully operational in-house departments for sales and technical service by February 2011.
