VUKI (Cables and Insulators Research Institute) has been firstly created as a separate organisational unit in 1950. At the beginning the activity of the institute was focused on research in the field of electrical engineering and especially in the cable industry. After 1990 VUKI began to transform into an entrepreneurial entity and its current main activity is production of cables, winding wires and insulating materials. An integral part of these activities is the related research and testing and also participation in the national and international standardisation.
