Alkim was founded in Istanbul in 1948 under the name “Alkali Mining” and started operating in Mining and Chemistry sectors. In 1997 the paper manufacturing was separated with opening a woodfree offset and coated paper plant with 55.000 tons/year capacity in Kemalpasa, Izmir. In 1999 Alkim Kagit Sanayi Ve Ticaret A.S. was established, as subsidiary of Alkim Alkali and production plants located on totally 200.000 m2 area, 35.000 of which is the indoor area. Nowadays Alkim Kagit (Alkim Paper) is producing woodfree offset, coated paper, photocopy and office papers.
