Established on October 8, 1963 . First Steamship Co., Ltd (FSC). is primarily engaged in the provision of international marine transportation services. It was listed on Taiwan Stock Exchange (TSEC) in 1965 (Stock Symbol: 2601TW), becoming the first publicly listed shipping company in Taiwan. In May 2006, FSC officially invested in China’s Grand Ocean Group (GO). Headquartered in Shanghai, GO currently owns seven department stores in China, located in Fuzhou, Suzhou, Nanjing, Quanzhou, Wuxi, Changzhou and Wuhan respectively, with operating floor area totaling over 25,000 sq. m. Currently FSC deals with bulk goods, such as grains, mineral ores, coal products and chemical fertilizers, among others. The company also involves in leasing and agent management of long-distance oceanic vessels and other vessels. As of 2010, the company had six ships, including five Panamax ships and one light bulk carrier. During the year 2010, the company obtained approximately 92.81% of its total revenue from merchandise distribution.
