Cargill is one of the largest exporters of grain and oilseeds in Ukraine. Cargill enters the Ukrainian market in 1991 via joint venture with Dnepropetrovsk Corn Research Institute. The company first in Ukraine has started a program to promote the cultivation and processing of high oleic sunflower. It acquires two sunflower seed processing and extraction plants. Cargill has activities in the following areas in Ukraine: oilseed crushing, Vegetable oil and meal trading, Grain and oilseeds trading. The company purchase grain and oilseeds from farmers for local processing and for export.
