Gia Lai Water Supply and Sewerage Joint Stock Company, located in Gia Lai, was formerly known as Pleiku Water Supply Center before 1975. It officially transformed into Gia Lai Water Supply Joint Stock Company on 05/01/2017. The company's shares were traded on Upcom Stock Exchange and Hanoi Stock Exchange (HNX) with the stock code GLW on 27/12/2017. Before 1975, the company operated as the Pleiku Water Supply Center under the former Saigon National Water Bureau. It had around 20 employees and served the military forces of the Saigon Wei regime stationed in Pleiku town, operating the Bien Ho pumping station with a capacity of 1,500 m3/day. After the complete liberation of the South, the company was taken over by the Revolutionary Government and renamed Pleiku Water Plant under Gia Lai - Kon Tum Construction Company. The capacity of the factory was increased from 1,500m3/day to 3,000m3/day and then to 6,000m3/day in 1978. The water supply network was also expanded gradually. In 1994, the name of the company was changed to Gia Lai Water Supply and Sewerage Company. In 1995, the Prime Minister approved an investment project to renovate and upgrade the Pleiku water supply system with a capacity of 20,000 m3/day. In 2010, the company was converted into Gia Lai Water Supply One Member Limited Liability Company. In 2016, it was further converted into a joint stock company. The company held an initial public offering (IPO) on the Ho Chi Minh City Stock Exchange in 2016. Overall, Gia Lai Water Supply and Sewerage Joint Stock Company has a long history of providing water supply services in Gia Lai and has undergone several transformations to become a joint stock company.
