Serbian private insurer Delta Osiguranje was set up in 1998 as part of local diversified group Delta Holding, which is owned by Serbian tycoon Miroslav Miskovic.The insurer, which services around 1 million clients across Serbia via more than 50 agencies, focuses on non-life business, life and pension insurance.
Delta Osiguranje collected EUR 40 million in premiums in 2005, more than double the EUR 16 million collected in 2004.
In March 2006, Italy's biggest insurer Generali acquired 50% plus one share of Delta Osiguranje for an undisclosed price. In 2014, the insurer was renamed to Generali Osiguranje Srbija A.D.O. Beograd.
