The Pozega- based company Jelen Do deals with lime and cement production. Its products are mostly sold in Serbia, Kosovo and Montenegro. Last year's the company production totalled some 7m. The capacities are currently not fully used and the company is likely to switch to gas or resume production at the limekiln.
The Croatian cement producer Nasice Cement acquired a 70% stake in the Jelen Do cement plant for a total of USD 5mn. The buyer has also committed to invest USD 4.1mn in modernisation of the plant’s technology, as well as to set aside USD 1.2mn for a social programme. Furthermore, the new owners will have to maintain the same number of personnel over the next five years.
