"Putnik" is the Serbia’s largest tourist operator. Its diverse holdings encompass hotels and motels, restaurants and catering, offices, rent-a-car, travel and transportation services. With a fleet of cars and buses, the name “Putnik” is recognized throughout Serbia as well as southeast Europe. In fact, some of the best vacations in the region are organized through the courtesy of "Putnik". Company possesses 43 objects (hotels, restaurants, motels, offices) and 24 long term leased objects. Company also is owner of 186 vehicles (161 cars, 6 mini buses, 15 buses, 4 trucks).
The USA company "Uniworld" purchased 70% stake of Putnik in April 2003. Uniworld paid USD 5.2 mn and has commited to invest USD 44.3 mn in the next five years. The buyer also obliged to invest 555,000 USD into the social program. Last year Uniworld had USD 85mn profit.
In end-April 2007, Serbia sold its 70% stake in Putnik on the Belgrade Stock Exchange for RSD 3.11 billion (EUR 38.5 million).
In May 2007, Cyprus-based company Acciona raised it stake in Putnik to 83.76%, after buying a stake of 6.8% for EUR 3.8 million.
