Publishing company Blic Press was set up in 1996. The Belgrade-based firm publishes Blic and ALO! tabloids as well as several magazines.
In 2004, Swiss media group Ringier acquired a majority stake in the company and in 2008 it increased its ownership to 100%. In April 2008, Blic Press was renamed into Ringier.
In 2010, Swiss Ringier and German publisher Axel Springer merged their operations in CEE under Switzerland-registered Ringier Axel Springer Media AG.
