Serbian water bottler Vlasinka, which was established in 1998, posted EUR 1.2 million in 2004 revenue, bottling 41 million litres of mineral water and soft drinks.
Greek firm Coca-Cola Hellenic Bottling Co. acquired 100% of Serbian water bottler Vlasinka for EUR 21.5 million in February 2005.
The value of the whole transaction, which also includes development projects, is estimated at some EUR 100 million.
Coca-Cola plans to invest in the modernisation of Vlasinka and sell its Rosa mineral water brand in the United States.
The acquisition involves production facilities at Surdulica in southern Serbia and the mineral water brand Rosa.
The previous owner of the company was Simpo, a Serbian diversified holding company based in the town of Vranje.
In 1998, Vlasinka was the first company to launch non-carbonated water bottling in Serbia.
Simpo claimed that Rosa held a 9.0% share of the Serbian water market. The company operated one bottling line for 30 million bottles a year.
In 2008, Vlasinka opened a new bottling line for 0.5 and 1.5 litres PET bottles with a capacity of 16,800 bottles per hour.
