The count of mergers and acquisitions in Latin America and the Caribbean dipped 23% y/y in the first nine months of 2020 to 980 transactions as Covid-19 loomed.
The third quarter was slightly better for M&A and deals volumes and values rebounded from the lows seen in Q2, reaching levels comparable to the first quarter of the year. Nevertheless, the overall impact of the pandemic has been most severe.
