The revenue of China’s food sector in Q3 2021 reached RMB 518.6bn (up by 1.4% y/y), driven by increased sales and prices of some significant foods. The total profit of the food sector in July – September 2021 plunged by 30.3% y/y to RMB 36bn due to increased costs. In Q3 2021, the production of some significant foods continued to increase. For example, the output of fresh and refrigerated meat surged by 43% y/y to 8.2mn tonnes. And the production of dairy products was up by 0.7% y/y to 7.6mn tonnes.
