During the first two months of the fourth quarter of 2017 the revenue of China’s rubber products sector contracted by 25.7% y/y to RMB 133.5bn. The declining price of raw rubber impacted the prices of rubber products as a whole. In October-November 2017, the sales revenue of the tyres subsector totalled RMB 62.7bn, down by 30% y/y, mainly due to the lower sales volumes. The revenues of the second and third largest subsectors, rubber plate, hose & belting, and rubber accessories went down by 10.7% y/y and 30.7% y/y to RMB 22.6bn and RMB 12.8bn, respectively.
