In 2016, the Polish information technology (IT) sector was responsible for somewhere between 1.4% and 3.2% of the country's GDP – depending on data source and the definition of the IT market – while the entire information and communications technology (ICT) sector accounted for 5.5% of GDP and employed around 335,000 people (or 2.7% of total employed persons in the economy).
