Eagle Mobile is the newest wireless telecommunication operator on the Albanian market. The company launched operations in March 2008 as a subsidiary of Albtelecom, which had been privatized in October 2007. A consortium between the two Turkish companies, Calik Holding and Turk Telekom, is a majority owner of Albtelecom, holding 76% of the local communication provider. Since February 2013, Eagle Mobile operates as a brand within Albtelecom.
